Questions

Frequently asked

When should my child first see a dentist?

The general guidance is by the first birthday or within six months of the first tooth. Early visits are short and mostly about comfort and prevention.

Are dental X-rays safe for children?

We use low-dose digital X-rays and take them only when there is a clinical reason — never routinely just because. We are happy to explain what we are looking for.

How do you handle a child who is nervous?

Slowly. We show before we do, keep instruments out of sight, use the ceiling TVs as a distraction, and never force a visit. Sometimes the first appointment is just a friendly ride in the chair.

Can my child and I be seen the same day?

Yes — that is one of the advantages of a family practice. Ask us to schedule back-to-back appointments.
