Dr. Farkhanda Tirmizi

Dr. Farkhanda Tirmizi  holds a DDS from NYU College of Dentistry and a BDS from Khyber College of Dentistry in Pakistan. 


After arriving in the United States Dr. Tirmizi completed a Post Graduate Residency in Comprehensive Dentistry for International Dentists at NYU College of Dentistry. 


Dr. Tirmizi has attended several training programs, including : 

  •  Nobel Biocare Implant Communication seminar series, 
  • Clinical Mastery UO3 and UO2 in clinically complex cases, 
  • Third Molar Extraction, 
  • AIE Surgical Implants & Prosthodontics, 
  •  Practice Management Course by Chrisad, 
  • CBCT Interpretation for general dentists, 
  • Anatomically Directed Endodontics by Next Level Endodontics, a Live Patient Implant Surgical Hands-on Program, and Surgical Extractions. 
  • Implant Lecture and Hands-on workshop with a focus on Biology of Osseointegration and treatment planning for dental implants



Dr. Tirmizi has attended seminars and continuing education 

  • (CE) programs related to oral pathology and restorative dentistry. 
  • Oral Pathology Seminar from 2007 to 2011 at the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. 
  • Participated in an Oral Pathology Study Group with residents in the same program. In February 2008
  • CE course on Creating Life Like Etched Porcelain Bonded Restorations at Baylor College of Dentistry.

As well as her impressive set of Dental Degree’s  Dr. Tirmizi’s  Achievements & Recognitions clearly demonstrate her passion and devotion to breaking down barriers with community service and improving the oral health of children and adults. 


Outreach Surgical Implant for under privileged –
Placed successfully 20 implants with comprehensive treatment planning applying advanced surgical techniques with bone graft and PRP.


Outreach Pediatric Van Program
 – Selected to provide service for underprivileged kids of New York Burroughs. The NYUCD mobile van called Smiling Faces, traveled to New York Public Schools to provide comprehensive dental care to the underserved population in New York, 


Head start facilities and shelters for homeless children
. Learned to manage children starting from 3 years and up on a dental chair. Provided exam, prophy’s, fluoride treatments, sealants and immediate restorations if needed after clinical exam and x-rays.

 

Interprofessional Education Project - Participated in a new academic program aimed at teaching dental students, medical students, and nurse practitioners how to work as a team to provide comprehensive care


Bioterrorism and Disaster preparedness certification
- Objective is to help plan, develop, demonstrate, and evaluate appropriate roles for dental professionals and their auxiliaries to function as part of teams for triage, emergency care, and information distribution to the public
